Mary Driver-Downs has been one of the primary caregivers for her mother-in-law, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, for the past six years. It has been a difficult journey, but one she says is well worth it.

‘Artists on the Green’ Welcome Art Lovers

"Artists on the Green," a local cooperative Studio and Gallery, is located in the Great Falls Village Centre in Great Falls next to Jinny Beyer Quilts. Founded in May of 2013 by five artists — Gail Pèan, Layla Gray, Connie Costello, Tom Stack and Mary Nesbitt — the artists' studio is a cooperative workplace that provides a gallery for 12 local artists.

When Paula Dierkes was growing up in Arlington, she would often hear family stories of a grandfather who sat on his front porch screaming at his neighbors and asking for his shotgun. She recalls a grandmother who shut out her family, literally, by closing doors and windows when they came to visit.
