The Bite Me Cancer Foundation in Chantilly held its first two fundraising events to support its Teen Support Bag program and thyroid cancer research. Proceeds from the events totaled more than $6,500.

The Town of Herndon’s 34th Annual Holiday Arts & Craft Show will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at the Herndon Community Center, 814 Ferndale Ave. Ninety artisans and crafts people will exhibit and sell their handmade work at this annual arts and crafts show sponsored by the Town of Herndon, Virginia Department of Parks and Recreation. Admission is free and refreshments will be available for purchase.

More than 270 people turned out Nov. 17 for the 10th annual Toast to Hope, a garden-party themed gala that raised more than $65,000 for SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) of Northern Virginia, a local nonprofit that leads child abuse prevention efforts across the region.
