The Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton moved forward in the main office by hiring Leon Scioscia as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, bringing years of art center experience to the Workhouse.

‘Art Night Out’ in Support of Great Falls Art Community
Great Falls artists and art enthusiasts will host a casual night out on March 7, 7-9:30 p.m. at the home of Mark & Molly Decker, 106 Falcon Ridge Drive, Great Falls. The residents are invited to enjoy drinks and appetizers as they view the Decker's extensive art collection highlighting accomplished Ohio landscape artist Michael McEwan. They can also view the newly released plans and drawings for the proposed Great Falls Center for the Arts, discuss the project's progress, and share their thoughts with GFFFTA Board members.
Burke Rotary, Library Foundation Partner to Provide Community Scholarships
Fairfax Library Foundation will be able to provide more scholarships to the community this year—thanks to the Rotary Club of Burke. The Burke Rotary, an affiliate of Rotary International since 1984, has contributed a $3,000 gift to fund additional undergraduate scholarships for the foundation’s scholarship program in 2013.

The founding classes of Yorktown High School will hold a joint reunion Oct. 19 – 21, at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington. Alumni from Yorktown High School Class of 1963 are participating in a Class Reunion Website at http://classreport.org/usa/va/arlington/yhs/1963/ There are no registration fees required to join in the fun. Each class member has full participation privileges.

Isabelle Saba, a cadet in Girl Scout Troop 1991, wrote to the farmers market about an idea she had to teach young children about nutrition and healthy living at the farmers market. Some lessons she suggested stressing are “what foods are in season, how buying local is better, the importance of knowing what you eat, where the food comes from, and why the farmers market is always the best choice.”
