The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has
issued a Coastal Flood Advisory, which is in effect until 4 PM
EDT Wednesday. The Coastal Flood Warning has been cancelled.
* LOCATIONS...Shoreline in Arlington County and the city of
Alexandria.
* TIDAL DEPARTURE...Around 1 to 1.5 feet above normal.
* TIMING...Around the times of high tide. High tide at Old Town
Alexandria will be 9:51 AM Wednesday and 10:04 PM Wednesday
evening.
* IMPACTS...Through midday Wednesday...water is expected to
approach the curb near the intersection of King Street and
Strand Street in Alexandria. Minor shoreline inundation up to
one foot above ground is possible elsewhere. The potential for
moderate flooding exists for the late Wednesday afternoon and
evening high tide cycle.
