Residents mingled with Herndon police last week on Tuesday as the sun was going down in celebration of National Night Out. The Herndon police visited several communities — Harbor House, Lifestyle, Herndon Woods, Waterford Park, Dulles Court Apartments, Elden Terrace, Four Seasons, Crestview, Dominion Ridge, Monroe Street, Lynn Street and Parkway Plaza — and took part in block parties, cookouts, flashlight walks, contests and youth programs.
The event, in its 20th year, was designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and to strengthen the relationship between the local police and the community.
