The following incidents were reported by the Mount Vernon District Police Station.
BURGLARY, 2300 block of Riverview Terrace, May 26. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 3100 block of Furman Lane, May 20, 12:30 a.m. The victim was in a parking lot and was approached by a man from behind. The suspect produced a knife and demanded money. The victim resisted and a struggled ensued. The suspect fled. He was described as black, between 15 and 19 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and wearing a hoodie. The victim incurred non-life-threatening injuries and did not require medical attention.
ROBBERY/ABDUCTION/PURSUIT/HIT AND RUN WITH APPREHENSION, 2900 block of Arlington Drive, May 21, 2:14 p.m. Two men entered a grocery store, displayed a knife to an employee and demanded money. The suspects took cash and fled in the victim’s vehicle. An officer located the vehicle traveling on Richmond Highway and attempted to stop it. The suspects disregarded the officer’s signal to stop and attempted to elude the officer. The suspect vehicle crashed into another vehicle on Richmond Highway near Fort Hunt Road. The suspects exited the vehicle attempting to flee on foot, but were taken into custody by officers. A 21-year-old man from Alexandria was arrested and charged with abduction by force, robbery, grand larceny of an auto, and felony hit and run. The second suspect, a 17-year-old juvenile, was charged with abduction by force, robbery, grand larceny of an auto, felony eluding police, and felony hit and run. The victim of the hit and run accident and the juvenile suspect incurred non-life-threatening injuries.
BURGLARY, 1900 block of Autumn Chase Court, May 22, 3:25 a.m. An officer conducting a business check discovered someone entered a store and took property.
BURGLARY, 3000 block of Marl Pat Drive, May 14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.
BURGLARY, 6000 block of Bayliss Place, May 12. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.
ROBBERY, 1200 block of Olde Towne Road, May 4, 11:29 p.m. The victim was walking and was approached by two men. The victim attempted to run but fell and dropped his backpack on the ground. One of the suspects took the backpack and both entered a dark-colored vehicle and fled. The victim did not require medical attention. The first suspect was described as black, 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a white tank top t-shirt and dark pants. The second suspect was described as black, 20s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, also wearing a white tank top t-shirt and dark pants.
