At the Dec. 12 Winterfest Dance Invitational hosted by Hylton High School, the Carl Sandburg Middle School Dance Team, won first place trophies in the Pom, Jazz and Hip Hop categories against five other middle school dance teams. The CSDT had the highest team average of the day, winning the title of Grand Champions. Additionally, the dancers won the Showmanship Award for their high energy facial expressions and overall presentation. Throughout the past eight years, the CSDT has established a dominating presence due to their “themed” routines as captured in this year’s bridal-themed jazz routine performed by 8th graders Ansley Seiffert, Sophie Anderson, Carrie Farson, Lyndsay Anderson, Zoe Cann, Charlotte Krell, Hope Larrick, Fiona Walsh, Eleanor Brademan, and Carolyn Bloom.
