The BookShop at Claude Moore Colonial Farm is home to 80 categories of books.
The Claude Moore Colonial Farm at Turkey Run is known for its authentic, interactive and educational programs that showcase the everyday life of Virginians during the 18th century. Although the farm is part of the National Park System, a nonprofit organization, “Friends of the Claude Moore Colonial Farm, Inc.,” runs it.

Located next to the outdoor ice rink in Pentagon Row, Bonefish Grill opened at the end of last month to the public. Cutting the ribbon on opening day were Arlington Chamber President Kate Roche, Arlington County Board member Walter Tejada, Bonefish Grill Managing Partner Jason Steenrod, Bonefish Grill Joint Venture Partner Debra Peterson and Bonefish Grill team members.

Oct. 25 is Potomac Day — and residents are already anticipating the excitement. Many are looking forward to the Grand Parade where children – and moms and dads too — can catch candy tossed from cars and trucks, spot a dentist dressed like the tooth fairy, cheer for their favorite businesses, political candidates and musical groups and applaud local Potomac leaders.

Flint Hill School Ceramics’ Students Raise $10K to Fight Hunger
On Saturday, Feb. 22, Flint Hill School hosted the 4th annual "Empty Bowls," an event held to raise money to fight hunger by selling ceramic bowls made by members of the Flint Hill School community—students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff. Approximately 900 bowls were produced and sold for $15 each, bringing the total to nearly $10,000—the highest so far for this event—all to benefit DC Central Kitchen.

Chantilly: That ‘It’ Moment
Mighty Marching Chargers compete at regional competition.
The 170-student strong Mighty Marching Chargers, Chantilly High School’s marching band, competed in the Bands of America Regional Championship at the University of Delaware in Newark, Del. on Saturday, Oct. 15. Twenty-seven marching bands from nine states participated in the competition. The Mighty Marching Chargers placed fourth in their class and tenth in the finals round. They earned the highest score the band has ever earned in 15 years of competing in Band of America events.
