Inova Alexandria Hospital (IAH) has launched two critical trials- Ultrasound-Accelerated Thrombolysis for Pulmonary embolism (PE) and Prostatic Artery Embolization for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), or an enlarged prostate. IAH was the first in the U.S. to enroll a patient in the SEATTLE II trial, offered at only 25 hospitals. The trial uses the EKOS EkoSonic Endovascular Device which employs high-frequency, low power ultrasound to deliver clot-busting medication, tPA to the arteries at the time of an embolism.

A bevy of incredible talent is set to entertain as the seventh annual George Mason University "Arts by George!" is coming on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 5 p.m. Arts by George! will take place in the de Laski Performing Arts Building on Mason’s Fairfax Campus, as well as Harris Theater and a tented plaza next to the performing arts building.

In the first few minutes of his visit to Patrick Henry Elementary School, Gov. Terry McAuliffe took student Natasha Maldonado’s hand, looked her in the eyes, and begged her to keep doing well on her Standards of Learning (SOL) tests. “Keep passing those tests, all right?” he asked, “We need you.”
