The Snowquester Hits the Area

Snowstorm’s impact downgraded, but slushy roads still a problem.

The National Weather Service Wednesday downgraded its Snowquester forecast from 8-10 inches to about 4-6 inches in the region. At 3:18 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, the NWS predicted total snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches in Fairfax County before the storm fizzles out later that night, and north winds with gusts up to 45 mph in some areas, making driving hazardous.

Artisphere Yarn Bomb Brightens Rosslyn's Streets Wilson Blvd. between Rosslyn Metro and Artisphere Cupid's Garden Sculpture (intersection of Wilson Blvd., Nash St. and Oak St.) The Artisphere Yarn Bomb is here! More than 1,000 colorful, hand-stitched geometric shapes adorn six trees along Wilson Blvd., between the Rosslyn Metro and Artisphere, Arlington’s visual and performing arts center. An additional installation, featuring vines, flowers and 19 animals of all shapes and sizes, surrounds Cupid's Garden at the intersection of Wilson Blvd., Nash St. and Oak St.

Centreville Roundups for Week of July 16

Meeting on Route 28 Safety Study Residents are invited to attend a public inormation meeting at Centreville Elementary School, on Monday, July 20, 6:30-8:30 p.m. to learn about the results of a traffic operational and safety study to identify short-term recommendations to improve traffic operations on Route 28 (Centreville Road) from south of I-66 to Liberia Avenue. The study analyzed traffic data to identify locations where low cost improvements may be made to the corridor.
