Betsy Berenback-Gold, a student at Robinson Secondary School, recently returned from a week at NASA where she planned a robotics and radiation mission and experienced life as an engineer and scientist.
Winter Walk of Lights to Open at Meadowlark
The light show runs Nov. 15 - Jan. 5.
On Nov. 1, the Meadowlark Gardens offered a sneak peak at their Winter Walk of Lights lightshow. In the lightshow, a total of about 500,000 LED lights will be on display for about six miles of trail at Meadowlark Gardens Park in Vienna.
Reston Holiday Parade Returns Nov. 29
Reston Town Center presents the 23rd annual Reston Holiday Parade on Friday, Nov. 29 at 11a.m. to launch the festive season with Macy’s-style balloons, musicians, dancers, antique cars, and more. This one-of-a-kind, one-hour parade along Market Street will also welcome the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus in a horse-drawn carriage.
Burke Man Sentenced to 360 Months for Producing Child Pornography
Jason Laposay, 40, of Burke, was sentenced to 360 months in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release, for producing child pornography by filming someone under the age of 12 engaging in sexually explicit activity.
