At Geographic Bee
Susanna Yau, an 8th grade student at Fourth Presbyterian School, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship.

Hundreds of people strolled along Church Street on Monday evening, Dec. 2, during the annual Church Street Holiday Stroll between Lawyers Road and Mill Street. Highlights included local singing groups performing holiday carols, a petting zoo, marshmallow-roasting on open fires, hot chocolate and a visit with Santa.

How do we enhance Salona’s value to the community today and for future generations? The Salona Task Force wants to hear the community’s views. The Salona Task Force, appointed in 2011 by Dranesville Supervisor John Foust and Fairfax County Park Authority Board member Kevin Fay, was charged with reaching out to the McLean community regarding possible future uses of a conservation easement granted to the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) at historic Salona.
