On Sunday, June 14, the Chantilly Youth Association Mavericks, an eighth-grade boys’ basketball team, won their Spring League championship at Herndon High School. The Mavericks were coached by Doug Sawitzky. The Mavericks pulled off a 69-60 win in the championship game to finish the year with a perfect 16-0 mark.
