Congratulations to the Chantilly Fusion, a member team of the Chantilly Soccer Club, for winning the U-14 Girls Silver Division of the Prince William Icebreaker Tournament on Sunday, March 25. The Icebreaker Tournament is one of the largest spring preseason tournaments in the nation with participants traveling from many states to play just 20 miles south of our nation’s capital. Chantilly Fusion had a slow start with a 1-0 loss to the LFC Firedogs, but they rallied to beat the Reston Cyclones, 2-1, and the Vista Vipers, 2-1. They qualified for the championship game and defeated the ABGC Dynamite 97 with a 2-1 victory to take home the title. The Chantilly Fusion is coached by Edgars Sturans and assistant coaches Tony Bryda and Eric Steffen.
