Michael M. Skinner, a teacher, coach and administrator at Mount Vernon High School from 1955-1983, addresses audience during the awards ceremony luncheon at the inaugural Michael M. Skinner Community Day Golf Tournament. The event, held at Mount Vernon Country Club on July 9, attracted 100 golfers and numerous Mount Vernon High School alumni. This year's tournament successfully achieved its goal of merging two fundraising tournaments into one larger event. This new annual tournament will help raise funds to fulfill the country club's proffer for the Mount Vernon Citizen's Civic Association Trail Fund and continue the drive to install a $1.4 million turf field at Mount Vernon High School.
