The Old Town Walled Garden Club will be judging holiday decorations in the Alexandria Old and Historic District the week of Dec. 10. Prizes will be awarded to the first-, second-and third-place winners. Photographs of the winning doors will appear in the Gazette Packet before Christmas. Judging will be based on originality; the use of all natural materials is strongly preferred. Other factors considered are scale, color, contrast, and visibility. The decorations also have to be done by the homeowners themselves — no purchased professional arrangements.
