Clean-up Yields 11 Bags of Trash
The Wellington Heights Civic Association sponsored a cleanup along Morningside Lane and the George Washington Parkway on Saturday, April 6, in collaboration with the Alice Ferguson Foundation. Thirteen volunteers collected 11 bags of trash, over half of which were filled with recyclable cans and bottles. They also picked up several hubcaps, pieces of metal and a grill. Volunteers included Bill Cabe, Betsy Cunningham, Steve Ditmeyer, Mary Hall, Cal Hartwell, Suzanne McDonnell, Lily McGovern, Connie O'Connell, Robert O'Connell, William O'Connell, and Gabriel Servais. In addition, progress was made in cutting ivy that climbs some of the large trees along Morningside Lane.
