February 5, 2013
In recognition of American Heart Month this past month, students, faculty and staff at Chamberlain College of Nursing's Arlington campus banded together to raise awareness of heart disease, the leading cause of death in the U.S. To kick-off activities, the campus community participated in the Go Red for Women movement, with more than 60 students and faculty wearing the color red to symbolize their support. And on Feb. 13 and 14, nearly 20 student volunteers offered more than 200 blood pressure screenings for members of the surrounding community while educating them on how to be more heart healthy in 2013. Chamberlain students' volunteering effort culminated with a potluck lunch at which students and faculty exchanged heart-healthy dishes and recipes.
