Learning about Government
Del. Scott Surovell hosted the 3rd Annual Amundson Institute earlier this year. Originally founded by former Del. Kris Amundson as the Young Leaders Program, the Amundson
Institute offers high school students in the Mount Vernon and Lee community to learn about how the state
legislative process functions. The students included, from front row left, Darien Cashku of West Potomac High School, Laraib Ilyas of West Potomac High School, Trisha Racho of West Potomac High School. In the back row from left are John Day of St. Stephen's & St. Agnes school, Gordon Baer of West Potomac High School, Adel Lahlon of Mount Vernon High School and Ben Deneault of Mount Vernon High School.
