Harper and Nancy Soschin, of Springfield, are a team, trained by the Animal Assisted Care volunteer program at Inova Fairfax Hospital. They visit patients at the hospital to cheer them and to encourage the healing process. Soschin says Harper loves his job and takes it seriously: "As soon as I put on his purple vest and say let’s go to work, he is 'on.' At home Harper is my constant companion. He loves taking long walks and playing catch."
