As part of PTA sponsored CAPS program, The Fairfax Academy Dance students came to West Springfield Elementary to perform “The Mixed Nut,” a version of “The Nutcracker” created by Andrea Heininge, the dance teacher and director of the Dance Academy classes. The 35 dancers are ninth- to 12th-grade students that come from various Fairfax County High Schools. Dance is one of their electives and either in the morning or the afternoon they travel to Fairfax High School to learn about dance.
