Neil Smith, business consultant, from McLean “I am really thankful for our family and close friends, who are like family. I think that’s just heightened this year because all of the losses and near-losses that we’ve seen other families go through this year. We’ve both been so busy this year at work, and the kids have been busy too. All of a sudden the kids have grown up. And so I think the losses just help us remember what’s really important; and remember that although work is busy, we have to make time for family and friends.”
