Eric Knudsen, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Great Falls: “We’ve been talking about rebuilding the bridge for 10 years. The two lane versus one lane is problematic, and the conclusion is that two lane would be more functional. This is a major road into our community and businesses. We have had rainstorms that have washed the bridge out, so we know that we have needed a new bridge. On this new bridge, most want trails as well. The project will have to be done over the summer. The main concerns are the shutdown of the bridge, the reopening of it and how they will reroute traffic.”
