An evening of magic for family audiences will be presented Oct. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Bishop Ireton High School, 201 Cambridge Road, Alexandria.
Featured performers include: Eric Henning, former Ring 50 president and two-time presidential inaugural entertainer; Noland Montgomery, two-time Ring 50 “Magician of the Year;” Dwight Redman, president of Assembly 23; and long-time magicians Mike Taggert, Bob Carnathan and Laurie Curry.

Bishop Ireton High School will hold its 16th annual auction and dinner gala Nov. 12, at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church. This year's theme will be Havana Nights. Silent bidding begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails and complimentary hors d'oeuvres. The seated dinner at 8 p.m. will include a live auction with veteran auctioneer Chris Rasmus. The Colonial Singers of West Potomac High School stepped back into history Sept. 24-25 on a sightseeing and singing trip to Williamsburg, Va. The singers, directed by Mr. Ernest Johnson, are an a cappella singing group that performs classic American folk music of the Colonial era. They toured historic downtown Williamsburg, enjoyed an African-American storytelling program and performed several times at Merchant Square. The singers also made informal singing stops in a few shops and at Bruton Parish Church.
Sarah Clay-Mendez, daughter of Deborah Clay-Mendez and William Mendez of Alexandria, has enrolled at Earlham College in Richmond, Ind.
Adrienne Leadon, daughter of Thomas and Victoria Leadon of Alexandria, earned dean's list honors for the 2005 spring semester at Lynchburg College. Leadon is a 2005 graduate of Lynchburg College with a B.S. in exercise physiology and a graduate of Bishop Ireton High School.
Wesley Schmidt III, son of Wesley and Catherine Schmidt of Alexandria, earned dean's list honors for the 2005 spring semester at Lynchburg College. Schmidt is a graduate of Christchurch School, and a sophomore at Lynchburg College.
