Since coming to Fairfax County Public Schools in July 2001, Clifton resident Peter Noonan has been on an upward trajectory. He went from being an assistant principal to a principal to a school system assistant superintendent.

Court of Honor held at Springfield Church of Christ

Three scouts were honored from Troop 2215.

In 2007, a new Boy Scout troop was formed at the Springfield Church of Christ. Every scout in Troop 2215 was home-schooled. On Saturday, Oct. 6, three of the troop’s founding members—Erik Lyttek, Michael Marriott and Benjamin Washechek—were recognized in a Court of Honor. All three boys had earned the grade of Eagle Scout, which is the highest rank in scouting. As Master of Ceremonies Hunter Stauffer explained, this is a significant achievement because only 3 percent of scouts reach this plateau.

Parents Confirm Bryan Glenn’s Death

As news of 17-year-old Bryan Glenn’s death spread throughout the community Monday, Oct. 8, condolences poured out to the Glenn family, in person and on the Facebook page launched last week to help find the W.T. Woodson High School senior who went missing on Oct. 1.

New President for ACVA

Patricia R. Washington has been named president & CEO of Alexandria Convention & Visitors Association. Washington’s start date is Nov. 13. She is the third person to lead ACVA since its inception 16 years ago.
