Fatal Crash in Franklin Farm Area

Around 3:50 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, a 19-year-old driver of a 2012 Honda Civic was traveling westbound on McLearen Road, near Cobra Drive. For reasons unknown, the Honda drove off the road and then reentered the roadway heading west in the eastbound lanes of McLearen Road and struck a 2000 Honda Civic head-on, which was driven by 64-year-old Chris Reams of Sterling. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital where Mr. Reams died.

Langley Fork Master Plan Delayed

The Fairfax County Park Authority has announced a delay in the master planning process for Langley Fork Park, a 54-acre site located just north of the intersection of Georgetown Pike and Dolley Madison Boulevard. The park, which contains two diamond fields, two rectangle fields, basketball courts and a fitness trail, is owned by the National Park Service.

The owners of the course, RN Golf Management, requested information from Fairfax County earlier this year on the exact zoning regulations for the property on which the 166-acre course sits.

Members of Energy Action Fairfax hosted an energy audit party in McLean, Wednesday, Aug. 29, to show how energy efficiency can be achieved with a few simple steps at home. The event was the sixth audit this summer held in a residence, part of Energy Action Fairfax’s pilot program.
