Hollin Hills Tour Highlights Modern Style
The Hollin Hills House and Garden Tour will be held Saturday, April 28 from noon to 6 p.m. The homes were designed by architect Charles Goodman and are noted for their expanses of glass and integration with their wooded an hilly environment. The theme of the tour is: “Modern: Then + Now” and will include homes with the original footprint and those that have had additions designed which are compatible with the Modern style.

The Reston Historic Trust (RHT) and the Reston Museum are exploring the early history Reston. Reston Museum is producing another free program in May, to be presented at the JoAnn Rose Gallery at Reston Community Center - Lake Anne, "The Early History of Reston – Creation of the Plan," Thursday, May 24, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.

As part of the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War (Sesquicentennial), the Reston Historic Trust and the Reston Museum are exploring early history Reston. The Reston Museum is producing another free program, to be presented on Thursday, July 26, 7- 9 p.m., at the Jo Ann Rose Gallery at Reston Community Center - Lake Anne, 1609 Washington Plaza in Reston.

Centreville’s Kevin Whalen is bicycling 230 miles, May 10-12, in the Police Unity Tour (PUT) Virginia ride. It raises money and awareness for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial fund and the National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington, D.C., honoring and remembering officers who’ve died in the line of duty.

Teen Safe Driving Program Visits Inova
Representatives from the Ford Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) program managed by the Ford Motor Company Fund, Ford’s philanthropic arm, stopped by Inova Children's Hospital on Wednesday, Oct. 2 to highlight with leadership and staff some of the main causes of car crashes involving teenagers, including inexperience and distracted driving. Those in attendance also got to hear personal stories from those that work in the trauma unit who regularly witness the outcomes of these types of crashes.
Vanderhye, Swygert to Co-chair MPAartfest
McLean Project for the Arts (MPA) has named Margi Vanderhye and George Swygert co-chairs of the sixth annual MPAartfest. Vanderhye is an MPA board member and former Virginia state delegate. Swygert is a regional executive with Capital One.
