On a Mission to Serve
On Tuesday, Jan. 22, Oakcrest School implemented a school-wide initiative called L.E.A.D. (Leadership, Experience, Academics, Daring) Day. The mission for the day was to provide a series of thoughtful workshops, service projects and field trips to kickoff the 3rd Quarter and Semester II.

The Bull Run Festival of Lights is open Wednesday, Nov. 21 through Jan. 6. Featuring more than two and a half miles of holiday light displays, the Bull Run Festival of Lights at Bull Run Regional Park has drawn thousands of visitors from hundreds of miles away.

Mardi Growl raises $50,000 for AWLA.
Supporters of the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria celebrated their own version of Mardi Gras with the third annual “Mardi Growl” bash March 8 at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. “This is an incredible evening,” said former City Manager Vola Lawson, for whom the AWLA shelter building is named.
