* Lessons in Truth — Wednesday evenings beginning April 10, 8-9:30 p.m. Join this exploration of Truth principles. At 9331 Braymore Circle, Fairfax.

* Mind-The Master Power — Tuesday evenings beginning April 9, 7-9 p.m. Stop short circuiting your God power and join in studying the book "Mind: The Master Power." Author Charles Roth reveals many approaches for consciousness raising. Explore putting Truth into practice with a group of like-minded individuals. At 9331 Braymore Circle, Fairfax.

* Children's Sunday — Sunday, April 7, 10:30 a.m.-noon. Sunday celebration led by the children of New World Unity Church. At Irving Middle school, 8100 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield.

* Spiritual Parenting — Sunday, April 7, noon. Join this group of conscious co-creators (parents, teachers, mentors, etc.) for a look at creating a world that works for everyone, especially all children. "Spiritual Parenting," by Hugh and Gayle Prather will be discussed. At Irving Middle School, 8100 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield.

* Multigenerational Creative Edge. Saturday, April 6, 9 a.m.-noon. Children and adults are encouraged to attend this "village" event for creating something wonderful. This activity allows children to show adults how to loosen up and allow Spirit to draw the art from within. At 9331 Braymore Circle, Fairfax.

* Individual Spiritual Discernment. Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. Discover what is yours to do to be a conscious co-creator. These gatherings are designed to support individuals in attaining clarity or direction on any issue, great or small. At 9331 Braymore Circle, Fairfax.

On Thursday, May 2, the Burke United Methodist Church sanctuary will be open from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. for National Day of Prayer. Everyone is invited to come into the sanctuary during these hours and pray; you will be joining thousands of others praying all over the country. The theme this year is America United Under God; the Scripture verse is "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1). Communion will be available at 6 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. At noon, there will be a prayer service with music. Fairfax County Mothers of Multiples will hold a children's clothing, toy and baby equipment sale on Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m.-noon, indoors at Jubilee Christian Center, 4650 Shirley Gate Road, Fairfax. For more information, call 703-715-MOMS.

Woman at the Well will hold a meeting on Saturday, April 6, at 1 p.m., for the second in the series of "The Indwelling Power of the Holy Spirit." The speaker is Christine Gramenopoulos, director of the Fairfax County chapter of Woman at the Well, an interdenominational Christian woman's group. Capital Christian Writers will meet Monday, April 8, from 7-9 p.m., at Gunnell House, Truro Episcopal Church, Main Street, Fairfax. This group of like-minded writers is for those still in the idea stage to those ready to submit a completed manuscript to a publisher, and those in-between. On April 14, at 11 a.m., the "In His Name" Youth Choir of Burke United Methodist Church will join with youth choirs from five other area churches to perform "The Gospel Mass" by Robert Ray. There will be 100 children in the combined choir, representing Burke United Methodist, Annandale United Methodist, Pender United Methodist, Sydenstricker United Methodist, Fairfax United Methodist and Vienna Presbyterian.

On April 28, at 9:15 and 11 a.m., the Children's and Junior Choirs of Burke United Methodist will present the musical "A Family Recipe," by Ruth Elaine Schram. Choir members include children from grades one to six. The musical is a parody of the Martha Stewart television show, starring Martha "Stalwart," who gives the audience the ingredients that make up God's family. Also on April 28, at 2 p.m., Burke United Methodist Church will present a brass ensemble with Dave Perkel on trombone and Scott Sabo on trumpet. The program for the last of this season's Little River United Church of Christ (UCC) First Friday evenings will be Bugs and Insects. First Friday is a parents-night-out program for children, in the community or church, from age 6 months through sixth grade. It provides the children with an evening of fun and nutritious food and their parents with an evening free. The next First Friday program is on April 5, from 6:30-9:30 p.m., at the Little River UCC, 8410 Little River Turnpike, Annandale. The cost is $5 per child preregistered (through April 2) or $6 at the door. The First Friday program will resume in the fall.
