Wolf Trap’s 2002 National Symphony Orchestra Series will run through Aug. 3 at Wolf Trap’s Filene Center. Each of the 10 performances features the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) joined at times by vocalist Ute Lemper, percussionist Evelyn Glennie, the Cathedral Choral Society and The Choral Arts Society of Washington. In two of the performances, the NSO will provide live accompaniment for films from the golden age of Hollywood, which will be shown to audiences on giant screens. Milling Around Summer Afternoons will take place at Colvin Run Mill Historic Site through Aug. 23 from 1-2 p.m. Events will take place on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons and include story time, scavenger hunts, puppet shows and ice cream making.
