<cal1>Instructors Needed

<cal2>Spanish Instructors are needed at the Sterling Annex on West Church Road for both elementary and adult level classes. Must have the equivalent of six months teaching experience or more. Experience may be a combination of employment as a teacher and volunteer teaching. Reliability a must. Requires teaching class or classes one evening per week. <cal1>Photography

<cal2>The photo lab and dark room at the Loudoun Academy of the Arts at 222 South King St. is now complete. Three photography classes are offered during the fall session which begins the week of Sept. 9: Introduction to Photography, Intermediate Photography and Creative Nature Photography. Students in the introductory and intermediate courses will use black and white film and will learn about film processing and darkroom techniques. Nature Photography is a new course offering that focuses on composition and creative style. Students will use color film in this class and will learn about camera features and techniques. <cal2>Beginner dance classes will be starting Friday, Sept. 13 at Douglass Community Center. 7 p.m. "Latin Potpourri" Level 1. Features: Salsa/Mambo, Merengue, Cha-Cha and Tango. Learn the current most popular Latin dances. 8 p.m. "Cha-Cha-Cha Workshop." Four one-hour classes. "Early Bird Enrollment" fee $35 per person, per program. Pre-registration required. <cal2>A Food Sanitation Course is being offered by Loudoun Cooperative Extension to restaurant food managers or others involved in food handling and preparation to reduce the incidence of food borne illness. The course will be taught on Sept. 4,11 and 18, 2002 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Loudoun Extension Office. Cost for text, examination and certification is $104. <cal2>Philomont Community Center's "Toning with Peggy Carter" exercise class will continue throughout the summer. The classes are held Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. and Friday from 9-10 a.m. The cost of the class is $6 per session. Attendees need to bring a mat and weights and should dress comfortably.

Exercise classes at the Loudoun County Senior Center at Cascades Marketplace. Belly Dancing: Every Tuesday 6:30-7:30 p.m. beginning on Sept. 10. Classes will be taught by Bambi Nieto and will run through Oct. 8. Cost is $30 for members and $35 for non-members for the five sessions. Open to any adult 18 years and older. Gentle Yoga: Every Tuesday 6:30-7:45 p.m. beginning on Sept. 10. Classes will be taught by Lin Wagener and will run through Oct. 29. Cost is $60 for members and $68 for non-members for the eight sessions. Open to any adult 18 years and older. Tai Chi: Start on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Classes for intermediates from 12-1 p.m. and classes for beginners from 1-2 p.m. Taught by Sylvia White. Classes will run through Oct. 30. Cost is $36 for members and $42 for non-members for the six sessions and is only open to seniors 55 years of age and older. Registration is required for all classes and class size is limited. <cal2>Introduction to Ceramics classes for individuals 55 years of age and older at the Loudoun County Senior Center at Cascades Marketplace. Cost is $18 for members, $19 for non-members for the two-hour class and a ceramic piece. Wednesday, Aug. 28 and Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. with volunteer instructors Bob Mayer, Ethel Perkins and Frank Smith. Registration is required. The Loudoun Academy of the Arts is offering a full line of fine art classes for adults and children during the fall session which begins Sept. 9. New courses in pastels, trompe-loeil, creative writing and photography are being offered. Courses in drawing, sculpture, watercolor, oil, acrylics, calligraphy and landscape painting continue to be part of the fine art curriculum. All classes are led by professional artists. Open studio sessions are scheduled for Monday evenings and Friday mornings and afternoons. Most workshops are one or two days. The new workshops include: Matting and Framing artwork with Linda Callaghy of the Potomac Gallery, Printmaking with Neil Rizos, Creative Composition taught by Merri Nelson, Holiday Pottery with Liddy Glass and Mask Making with Julie Lea. After-school programs for children aged 5-11 include drawing/sculpting and oil painting. Art Fun will meet on Saturdays and will cover a wide range of skills in painting, drawing, collage and sculpture. Pottery and Sculpture classes are also offered for children. Older children, ages 11-16, can register for Drawing/Printmaking or Drawing/Sculpting Horses. The Academy will also continue its scholarship program and invites applications from children or adults. Classes in drawing and watercolor painting will be offered the Sterling Annex Community Center on West Church Road. Maria Hawkins will teach; supply lists are available at the Sterling Annex office. Classes will start on Monday, Sept. 9 and will run from 4:30-6:30 p.m. for six sessions. Pre-registration is required; cost is $72. <cal2>AARP's 55 Alive Mature Driving class will be offered at the Loudoun County Senior Center at Cascades Marketplace. Wednesday, Sept. 25 and Friday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Cost is $10. <cal2>Computer classes for seniors 55 years and older at Loudoun County Senior Center at Cascades Marketplace. Learn how to use a computer, write a letter, send e-mail or explore the Internet. Cost for each class is $18 for members and $19 for non-members unless otherwise noted. Introduction to Computers: Thursday, Sept. 5 from 1-4 p.m. with Gene Gould. Windows 95/98: Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 1-4 p.m. with Gene Gould. Internet: Thursday, Sept. 26 from 1-4 p.m. with Gene Gould. Photo Editing and Restoration: Thursday, Sept. 19 from 1-5 p.m. with Gene Gould. Register at the Senior Center or call 703-430-2397. Payment is required to confirm registration.

English as a Second Language, Typing, and Computer classes will be offered at Faith Bible Church at 21393 Potomac View Road, Sterling. Registration is Sept 12, 17 and 19 as long as space is available. ESL classes run from 7:30-9 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 17, 2002 to May 22, 2003. Registration fee is $10 per year and book fee is $15. Typing and Computer classes start Sept. 29 and the cost is $20 per 10 week session (includes book and registration fee).
