<lst>Jewish High Holy Day services. New and prospective members and visitors are invited to worship with Shoreshim Jewish community for Rosh Hashanah. St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 1700 Wainwright Drive, Reston. The evening service will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 and the day service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7. In preparation for the High Holy Days, the Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation (reform) will be hosting a Selichot Service on Saturday, Aug. 31 from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Members of the community are welcome to join the service which will take place at NVHC, 1441 Wiehle Ave., Reston. Community members wishing to inquire about Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services are asked to contact the NVHC office at 703-437-7733.

Moms In Touch International is a group of mothers who gather to pray for students, teachers and schools As students all over the nation begin the fall term, more than 150,000 mothers will be heading back to Moms In Touch groups to pray for their children, teachers and schools. In Virginia, there are 700 MITI prayer groups meeting in every region and rapidly growing in the Northern Virginia region. To obtain a listing of MITI nearby groups praying for schools visit the ministry's Web site at www.MomsInTouch.org. The Web site also offers instructional materials, as well as videos and leadership resources to help mothers start MITI groups for schools that don't already have one. Christian Women's Club of Fairfax County is hosting a "Stampin' Up" luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13 at the Hidden Creek Country Club, 1711 Clubhouse Road, Reston. Faye Giguere will share the joy and craft of stamping. The keynote speaker will be Ginny Stikeleather of Statesville, N.C. Required reservations are $14 inclusive. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2002-2003 school year for the United Christian Parish Parents Day Out (PDO) Program. PDO is a one, two, or three morning a week program for children 2 years of age. The program runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday. Children need not be potty trained. The Religious School and Early Childhood Center at Congregation Beth Emeth in Herndon is in the process of registering students for the 2002-2003 school year. For children in grades K-12, the Religious School includes many enrichment programs and opportunities to involve the family through the Family Learning Program, as well as classroom learning and bar and bat mitzvah preparation.

The Beth Emeth Early Childhood Center (BEECC) provides a Jewish pre-school experience for more than 90 children ages 2-5. BEECC offers small classes grouped by age, in a relaxed but structured environment with an emphasis on socialization. BEECC is in session Monday through Friday from 9:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m., with the 2002-2003 school year beginning on Sept. 9. Moxie's "Get Up and Go Clowning" class for prospective clowns will meet in the Washington Plaza Baptist Church's Plaza Room on Thursday evenings, July 18 through Aug. 29, 7-9 p.m. Clown skills will be taught by professional clowns. Locally-based marketing and advertising partnership Kristof Creative has started a working relationship with the Ashburn-based Faith Foundation. The faith foundation was created by Redskins player Eddie Mason and his wife, and is a charitable organization serving the youth and families of Northern Virginia. The faith foundation's first annual fundraising event, "Raising Hope for Children and Families," is scheduled for Oct. 1 at 6 p.m., at the Sheraton Premiere in Tyson's Corner. Funds from the upcoming event will help launch the Faith Foundation's "Discovering Destiny and Purpose' programs for local youths and adults.
