The New World Unity Church will host a Sunday celebration of "A Night to Remember" on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 10:30 a.m., at Irving Middle School, 8100 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield. Spirit Song will provide music combining traditional and metaphysical reflections of Christmas. Call 703-690-7925.

Little River United Church of Christ, Annandale, celebrates the meaning of the Christmas season through its annual White Gift service on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 5 p.m. In an enactment of the Magi visit to Bethlehem to find Jesus, worshipers young and old follow the procession of the three kings, offering at the manger gifts wrapped in plain white paper for children of low-income families. The gifts are distributed to children from ACCA Child Center, the Main Street Child Development Center, Shaw Community Ministry, and a local Somali family being assisted by the church. Visitors are welcome and may bring gifts properly identified by age and gender. A reception follows. Accotink Unitarian Universalist Church will host a Winter Solstice Service, on Sunday, Dec. 15. Learn about the origins of the holiday traditions around food, plants, animals and other activities, and touch the Yule Log to make a wish for the coming year. On Sunday, Dec. 22, a holiday service for all generations will be the program. The services on these dates will be at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Accotink will also host a Family Christmas Eve Service on Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 5:30 p.m. The service will feature the children's Christmas Pageant and will include the annual Christmas tableau, with lots of carol singing and a congregational candle lighting. The second service, at 7:30 p.m., includes music from the Adult Choir, a telling of the Christmas story from Scripture, more carol singing and lots of candlelight. The holiday week concludes on Sunday, Dec. 29, with an intergenerational service and all-church brunch, hosted by the church's Board of Trustees, starting at 10 a.m. Accotink UU Church is located at 10125 Lakehaven Court in Burke. The New World Unity Church invites the public to participate in a Christmas Candlelight Service on Sunday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m., at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, 6304 Lee Chapel Road in Burke. The community is invited to a Dramatic Musical Worship Service that the children of Fairfax Presbyterian Church are offering at the 5 p.m. service on Christmas Eve. The Celebration Singers, a costumed and choreographed, all-volunteer, women's show chorus, invites singers to join them.
