ROBBERY
* 2700 N. Washington Blvd. At 10 p.m. Dec. 7, the victim, a 34-year-old female, was walking to her car when an unknown subject approached her and grabbed her purse. The victim struggled with the subject and was thrown to the ground, punched, kicked and bitten. The subject dragged the victim to his vehicle where the subject released the purse. The subject got into a green vehicle that was being driven by a second suspect and fled the scene. Several victims ran to the aid of the victim while other witnesses followed the suspect vehicle and notified police. Police officers responded to the address to which the suspect vehicle was registered. Officers found the suspect vehicle unoccupied at that address. The vehicle was watched until two subjects returned to the vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and the owner of the vehicle was positively identified as the victim's assailant. Both subjects were then interviewed by police. Kenneth Q. Jackson, 32, and Welton M. Day, 39, both of Arlington, were arrested and charged with attempted robbery.
* 200 N. Glebe Rd. At approximately 1:45 p.m. Dec. 8, the victim, a 43-year-old female cab driver, was taking a fare to N. Glebe Rd. and N. Pershing Dr. when the fare got in the front seat and put his hands on her. At that point, the victim, fearing for her safety, stopped the cab and got out. The subject then drove away in the cab. The subject flagged down an officer a short distance away. The victim positively identified the subject and he was arrested. Santo S. Romero-Mendoza, 18, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with carjacking.
ARMED ROBBERY
* 100 S. Wise St. At 3:25 a.m. Dec. 7, the victims, both 23-year-old females, were walking home when they were approached by an unknown subject. The subject implied he had a weapon and grabbed one of the victim's purses. The subject then attempted to grab the second victim's purse but she successfully resisted his efforts. The subject then ran to an awaiting vehicle and fled west on S. 2nd St. The subject was described as a black male, 30-35 years old, 6'0", 220 lbs, wearing blue fleece with a zipper in the front and dark blue jeans.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
* 1000 S. Rolfe St. Sometime between 9 a.m. and 12:07 p.m. on Dec. 4, unknown subjects entered an unlocked residence and stole jewelry and a video game.
* 4600 N. Washington Blvd. Sometime between 8:35 a.m. and 2:35 p.m. on Dec. 3, an unknown subject(s) entered an apartment and stole a video game and an empty purse. There were no signs of forced entry.
*1600 S. Hayes St. Sometime between 12 p.m. on June 1 and 3:10 p.m. on Dec. 4, an unknown subject(s) forced entry into a vacant residence and stole several miscellaneous items.
* 2400 S. 26th Ct. Sometime between 11 p.m. on Dec. 3 and 7:45 a.m. on Dec. 4, an unknown subject(s) entered an open garage and stole a remote garage door opener.
* 600 N. Kenmore St. Sometime between 9 a.m. on Nov. 30 and 7 a.m. on Dec. 4, unknown subject(s) forced entry into a storage area but did not steal anything.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES
* 4300 N. Wilson Blvd. Sometime between 12 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 5, an unknown subject(s) forced entry through a window into a construction trailer and stole various construction tools.
* 3000 N. Washington Blvd. Sometime between 12 p.m. on Dec. 8 and 6 a.m. on Dec. 10, an unknown subject(s) forced entry into a construction storage area and stole numerous tools.
* 1900 Fort Meyer Dr. Sometime prior to 10:40 p.m. on Dec. 7, an unknown subject(s) entered and ransacked an office suite. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing appeared to be missing.
* 1900 Fort Meyer Dr. Sometime between 6 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 11:50 a.m. on Dec. 7, an unknown subject(s) forced entry into restaurant by making a hole through the drywall. The restaurant was ransacked, but nothing appeared to be missing.
* 900 S. George Mason Dr. Sometime between 10:45 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 10 a.m. on Dec. 7, an unknown subject(s) forced entry through a window into a store and stole various items of jewelry.
