The volunteers who worked at the Museum Shops, a fundraiser for the McLean Project for the Arts, were honored with a Valentine Tea last week.
With their annual Thanksgiving weekend sale of items collected from museum shops in the Washington area, the group raised more than $36,000 to fund programs at the Emerson Gallery of the McLean Community Center.
The volunteers attended a luncheon and listened to artist Judy Jashinsky, whose exhibit of paintings about the life of 17th century Italian painter Artemisia Gentileschi is now on display at the gallery.
The Museum Shops sale raised more than $36,000 to support the McLean Project for the Arts, which sponsors art exhibits, classes, and student outreach programs at the McLean Community Center.
