The Potomac Almanac is a weekly newspaper dedicated to serving our readers with news, issues and dialogue. The Almanac, Potomac’s hometown newspaper, was established in 1957.
The Almanac won dozens of awards for excellence in news, sports, photography, graphics and community service in recent years, and was named Newspaper of the Year by the Maryland Delaware D.C. Press Association for 1998 and 2001. The last two years, The Almanac won multiple awards for public service, including "Best in Show" in 2001 for coverage of the Potomac Master Plan.
The Potomac Almanac features stories and items about and of interest to our readers, covering local politics, sports, community developments, leisure activities, business and real estate. The paper is distributed free of charge by mail to the residents of Potomac, and free mailed subscriptions are available to area residents by request at 703-917-6465.

* School notes (accomplishments of local students and events at local schools)

* Birth announcements
* Items of interest: business and real estate notes, people notes, faith notes, health notes, military notes, etc.
Submissions should include the sender's name, address and daytime phone number. Color photographs are encouraged. We will do our best to return any photo that is sent with a self-addressed, stamped envelope, but please do not send anything irreplaceable.
