After Suicide, Husband Drives Wife's Body To Different Location

Forty six-year-old Berinthia Pierce of Mount Vernon died of asphyxiation on March 18, in what Fairfax County police are classifying as a suicide. But what happened next created a stir within the Mount Vernon community.

According to Fairfax County police, Pierce’s husband drove her body from their home on Groveton Street to Groveton Elementary School and called police for assistance at around 7:30 a.m. on Monday. Police told the Gazette that Mr. Pierce was trying to maintain his family’s privacy and did not want fire, rescue and police to come to his home.

Police do not plan to file any charges against the man.
