Seaport Summer Sounds Kicks Off May 31

Free Outdoor Concerts Will Be Held Every Friday Night, May 31 - August 31

The musical sounds of summer will fill the night air as Old Town Alexandria hosts Seaport Summer Sounds, a free, weekly outdoor concert series every Friday night from May 31 - August 31. The concert series is sponsored by the Alexandria Convention & Visitors Association and the City of Alexandria.

Seaport Summer Sounds will alternate Friday nights at two locations: King Street Station, 1800 Diagonal Road, which is the fountain courtyard across from the King Street Metro Station; and the Alexandria Marina, King and Union Streets, behind the Torpedo Factory Art Center. Concerts offer something different each week, including swing, rhythm & blues, jazz, blue grass, gospel and more, performed by award-winning bands from the Washington, DC metro area.

Additionally, the Alexandria Citizens' Band will perform at Historic Market Square, 301 King Street, from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. on July 5, July 19, August 2 and August 16.

The Seaport Summer Sounds concert schedule is available through www.FunSide.com or by calling 800-388-9119.
