Herndon Parks and Recreation is now accepting registrations for the Herndon Festival 10k/5k race, on Sunday June 2. Race time is 7:30 a.m. Cost is $22 through May 31 and $25 late registration June 1 and 2. The races run through the town of Herndon. Awards will be given to the overall male and female finishers as well as the top two finishers in each age group. The age groups are 13 and under, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over and the wheelchair and baby stroller division (5k race only). Check out the Fitness Expo, Saturday, June 1 at the Herndon Community Center featuring exhibitors offering a wide range of apparel, running shoes, health and fitness items and plenty of race bargains. T-shirts will be given to all race participants. For more information call the Herndon Community Center at 435-6868.
