The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors' Land Use Committee special meeting. 4 p.m. in the Lovettsville Room of the County Government Center, 1 Harrison Street, S.E. in Leesburg. The committee will consider two items that were forwarded from the May 6 public hearing to the May 14 committee meeting, but were not discussed because of an extended power outage.

The items to be considered on May 23 are: Proposed Amendments to the Loudoun County Facilities Standards Manual, Chapters 2,4,5,6,7,8, and SPEX 2002-0020/Raspberry Plain Special Exception application.

<cal2> Joey & Maria’s Comedy Italian Wedding, the interactive dinner theatre comedy, comes to Loudoun County. The performance begins promptly at 7:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Dulles, 1000 Sully Road, Sterling. Leesburg Gardens will offer free samples of fresh picked Virginia grown strawberries with a scoop of ice cream from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Memorial Day Weekend. Leesburg Gardens is located next door to Leesburg Animal Park on James Monroe Highway (Route 15), two miles south of Leesburg.

Ashburn Farm's Summer Kick-Off Celebration will begin with an outdoor concert at Windmill Park, performed by Linda and the Lucky 4, and concludes with a fantastic fireworks display. The Celebration festivities start at 7 p.m. with the fireworks at approximately 9 p.m. Requested admission is $3 per person. This funding is used to help support the 2002-2003 Bluemont Artist-In-Education programs for the schools serving the Ashburn Farm community. Limited parking is available.

The Growing Stage Gala will take place at the Lovettsville Game Club in Lovettsville.
