Lake Braddock Secondary School

<bt>As temperatures begin to drop outside, a transition in high school sports is set to take place. The winter sports finished up their last week of pre-season conditioning in preparation for the upcoming season, and on Monday, Nov. 11, all winter sports were scheduled to begin their individual tryouts and then regular-season practicing. However, before students and fans begin to focus their attention on these sports, the fall teams deserve a little bit more attention. The regular season is over; now it is time to win and move on or lose and go home. This season, Lake Braddock teams have enjoyed successful seasons and have performed well in the post season.

Both the boys and girls cross country team won their district meets. The girls' tennis team also won its district tournament. Senior player, Meg Zemitis, finished second overall in both singles and doubles for the district. In addition, the cheerleading squad placed first at its district competition.

In only its third year of existence at the school, the girls' volleyball team finished second in the regular season and second in the district championship. Golf also placed second in the district tournament, and in the regional tournament, junior Brian Dillard placed second in individual play.

The girls' field hockey team continued its winning tradition this year by winning its seventh consecutive district championship. During the season, Coach Diane Miller won her 300th career victory, an amazing highlight in another successful season.

So, congratulations to all the fall players and good luck to all the winter teams.
