Centreville United Methodist Church has the following events planned:

* Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. — Hanging of the Greens;

* Dec. 6-7 at 6:30 p.m. — Madrigal Feastes;

* Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. — United Methodist Women's Christmas Program.

* Dec. 15 at 5:30 p.m. — Christmas Caroling at the motels on Route 29 which FACETS uses to house the homeless;

* Dec. 16 at 4:45 p.m. — Children's Christmas Music Program;

* Dec. 18 from 6-8 p.m. — Pizza and Christmas Songfest. Cost is $2.

* Dec. 21 at 8 a.m. — United Methodist Men will be providing Christmas food baskets for needy families.

A special healing service will be held at the Jubilee Christian Center on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 6:30 p.m. Rev. Albert Appiah, Pastor of Renewal Christian Center in Mitchelville, Md., will be speaking. Wellspring Church will begin preparations for Christmas on Sunday, Dec. 1, with Pastor Richard Thayer preaching on "keep awake." Worship begins at 10 a.m. at Centreville Fire Station No. 17, on Old Centreville Road. Sunday School classes for children meet during worship. The choir will rehearse on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Wellspring is a new congregation of the United Church of Christ, and welcomes all to join its "circle of love for all people." Wellspring Church will celebrate the second Sunday of Advent on Dec. 8, with Pastor Richard Thayer preaching on "preparing for comfort." Assemblies of God missionaries to Belgium, Bobi and Nancy Arsenovic, will be speaking at Jubilee Christian Center on Sunday, Dec. 29, at 6:30 p.m. The Arsenovics have been teaching and training students at Continental Theological Seminary in Brussels, Belgium. Clifton Presbyterian Church activities:

* Adult Bible Study this Fall: A 34-week study program, following the “Disciple: Becoming Disciples through Bible Study” approach, will emphasize disciplined reading of and listening to Scripture encompassing 70 percent of the Bible. Cedar Run is a non-denominational, Christian church currently meeting at Waples Mill Elementary off Route 50 in the Fair Oaks area. It provides a high-quality, secure, and fun Promiseland children's ministry for ages newborn through sixth grade. Congregation Yad Shalom is a conservative synagogue located in Centreville. It provides a traditional service with a progressive format to enhance a Jewish lifestyle.

Temple Beth Torah is a Reform Jewish congregation and member of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations (UAHC) that meets at St. John's Episcopal Church in the heart of Centreville. Adult Christian Formation

Adult Forum — Sundays, 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., now through Jan. 19 (no classes Dec. 1 or Dec. 29), features a video series on boundaries from a biblical perspective — what they are, what they protect, how they are developed, how they are injured, how to repair them, and how to use them. Members of Saint John's Episcopal Church in Centreville will celebrate the season with a Madrigal feast and concert on Saturday, Dec. 14. The St. John's music ministry will perform in period costume.

Tickets are $30 for both the dinner and concert and $16 for the concert only. Senior and student prices are $27.50 and $12, respectively. The dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish House and the concert begins at 8 p.m. in the Historic Church. St. John's is located near the intersection of Route 28 and 29 at 5649 Mount Gilead Road, Centreville.

The Madrigal concert and dinner are part of St. John's 2002-2003 concert series. Discounted season tickets are available through the church office.

Sunday School for all ages at 9:30 a.m.

Morning worship at 10:30 a.m. and evening worship at 6 p.m.

The third Sunday of the month at 6 p.m. is an anointing and prayer for the sick service.

The Joybells (children's handbell choir) meets the first Sunday of the month.

The Adult Bible study group on Wednesday nights is studying how to handle adversity and hard times in our everyday lives by looking at the life of Joseph in Genesis: 37-50.
