<sh>Clifton Town Council Meets

<bt>The next meeting of the Clifton Town Council will be Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Clifton Town Meeting Hall, 12641 Chapel Road in Clifton.

<sh>Tri-County Parkway Mtg.

<bt>A meeting about the location of the Tri-County Parkway connecting Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun counties will be held Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5-8 p.m. at Westfield High School, 4700 Stonecroft Blvd. in Chantilly. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will make a presentation at 6 p.m. Purpose of the meeting is to present preliminary alternatives which address the transportation problems and needs within the study area.

<sh>Comment on Environment

<bt>The Environmental Quality Advisory Council (EQAC) will hold its annual public hearing to solicit comments on the state of the environment in Fairfax County. The date is Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in conference rooms 2 and 3 (lobby level) of the county Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway in Fairfax. <sh>Youth Honored for Positive Contributions

<bt>Fairfax County Department of Community and Recreation Services recognized 57 youth during the 12th Annual Youth Appreciation Awards Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 22, in the Fairfax County Government Center Forum.

The CRS Youth Appreciation Awards are an opportunity to highlight the positive contributions that youth make to our community. These awards emphasize the importance of youth, encourage youth to continue volunteering in their communities, stimulate community ownership, leadership, and participation, and recognize and promote the positive character of our youth.

The following youth from the Sully District were presented with Youth Appreciation Awards:

* Dallas Bryant, age 14 — Chantilly High;

* Alex Canales, age 14 — Chantilly High;

* Elena Duffy, age 15 — Centreville High;

* Sierra "Cece" Greene, age 15 — Centreville High;

* Liz Ruegsegger, age 14 — Centreville High.

<sh>Elem. School Boundary Meeting

<bt>The third boundary meeting for the new northeast Centreville elementary school will be held Thursday, Dec. 12, from 7:30-10 p.m. at Rocky Run Middle School, 4400 Stringfellow Road in Chantilly. The school is being built in the Centreville Farms community, off Route 29 and Stringfellow Road, and is earmarked to alleviate overcrowding in other area elementary schools.

<sh>Battlefield Bypass Meeting

<bt>A public hearing will be held Dec. 12, from 5-8 p.m., on the location of the Route 29 Manassas National Battlefield Park Bypass. It will be held at the Holiday Inn at the I-66/Route 234 intersection in Manassas. There will be a presentation at 6 p.m.
