<bt>Paul VI Catholic High School held its annual Spirit Week this week. Due to the Columbus Day holiday on Monday and the PSATs on Tuesday, this year's Spirit Week was not the week-long celebration before Homecoming that it normally is. The shortened week did not keep students from having a good time though.

"It doesn't matter how short or long Spirit Week is as long as everyone has a good time," junior Ryan Donnelly said. Donnelley, along with the other nine members of Paul VI's Student Government executive board, helped plan many of the week's activities.

"Spirit Week is always a lot of fun. I like the days when we get to wear wacky clothes. The week is more laid back than normal and I especially like that," junior Joseph Kurtenbach said. Students participated in 80s day, where they were encouraged to wear the gaudiest and goofiest clothes. Country Western day was also a big hit among the students, many of whom wore their cowboy hats and boots. The week's theme was "Rockin' in the U.S.A."

Spirit Week wraps up with Friday's Class Color day and pep rally before the Paul VI football team takes on Gonzaga in a highly anticipated WCAC match up.
