The following is a list of events taking place at the Loudoun County Public Libraries.

<cal2>Luis Rodrigez, activist, teacher and award-winning author of "Always Running: La Vida Loca, Gang Days in L.A.," will be appearing live at the Loudoun County Public Library. On Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Waddell Theater, Northern Virginia Community College Loudoun Campus, 1000 Harry Flood Byrd Highway, Sterling. He will present a public program followed by discussion and book signing. On Sept. 21, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Rust Library, 380 Old Waterford Road, Leesburg, Rodrigez will hold a teacher's workshop on creative writing and addressing needs of Latino students in the classroom. <cal1>Eastern Loudoun Library

<cal2>Reader's Theater-A Chance to Act." For children 8 to 12. This program will be offered Wednesdays at 4 p.m., Sept. 11-Dec. 11. Children will read from a script and perform in a non-threatening atmosphere. College Essay Writing Workshop. Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. This workshop is open to all high school juniors and seniors. Robert M. Otten of Marymount University will present this program on writing a college application essay that targets a student's strengths and accomplishments. Advance registration is required. One-on-One Internet training at Eastern Loudoun Regional Library, Sundays from 7-8:30 p.m. and Tuesdays from 2-4 p.m., and at Purcellville Library (call 540-338-7235 for dates). Detection! A Club for Mystery Lovers. On Wednesday, Oct. 2 and Nov. 6 from 7-8 p.m., the Rust Library will hold its mystery club Detection! A Club for Mystery Lovers. Have you met Jigsaw Jones? Are Cam, Encyclopedia, Nancy and favorite detective characters? If your like mysteries, join us at the "scene of the crime" for book talks, puzzles, games and more. Advance registration is required. The American Girl Club will meet at the Rust Library on Thursday afternoons this fall (Oct. 3, and Nov. 14). It is for ages six to 10, this club is a monthly gathering of American Girl fans, featuring book discussions and fun activities. Advance registration required. Book It! On Wednesday evenings this fall — Sept. 18, Oct. 23 and Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. — the Rust Library will host its book discussion group for children ages 9-10.
