At Park View High

Park View students enjoyed the luxury of a three-day school week, due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and the teacher workday.  Games and meets still occurred, however.

The Varsity Basketball Team defeated Warren County on Jan. 21 in Front Royal. The Patriots started out the game with an 18-2 lead and never looked back. All 13 members of the team were able to play and contribute to the winning score of 75-55. Junior Alex Endemic dominated the inside.

The Gymnastics Team traveled to the Harrisonburg Invitational on Jan. 18. Ten high schools attended this meet, including four from the Dulles District.

The team competed again on Jan. 22 at Oakton High School. The other participating schools were Fairfax and Broad Run. Senior Joanna Quinn placed 3rd all-around with a score of 32.0.

Red, White, and Blue Awards for December were handed out to many students this week. A teacher who feels that the student is doing an exceptional job in their class nominates recipients of this award.

A PTSA meeting was held on Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Park View Auditorium. This evening program featured the Forensics Team, which focuses on public speaking.
