Army 1st Lt. Lance A. Winters has deployed overseas to a forward operating location to support the mission of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The lieutenant, a platoon leader, is the son of Tim Winters of Portsmouth Road, Manassas, and Barbara Pope of Sterling. Winters graduated from 1991 from Park View High School and received a bachelor's degree in 2001 from the University of Louisville, Ky.
