Newcomer Club Eases Arrival in Great Falls

My family and I had relocated seven times before we arrived in Great Falls in early 2000. But this was my first experience of arriving in a new community and feeling "welcomed" with a smile from everyone I met. I was happy here from Day One.

I joined the Great Falls Newcomer Club shortly after unpacking our boxes, and it was my instantaneous launch into the formation of great friendships and learning the "ropes" of life in Great Falls and Fairfax County. My transition was virtually "overnight."

I feel fortunate to live in a place where the people are so interesting and warm-hearted, and the surroundings are so beautiful. And, as the saying goes, when Mom is happy, the family is happy. Great Falls is a wonderful small town.

Jan Stewart Clark, the president of the Great Falls Newcomers, lives in Great Falls with her husband and daughter.
