St. Stephen's & St. Agnes hold commencement exercises.

A rainy Saturday didn't dampen the spirits of the 109 seniors who received their diplomas at the St. Stephen's and St. Agnes commencement ceremonies.

Laura Aileen Sauls was the class valedictorian. She has attended the school since kindergarten and has distinguished herself both as a student and in extracurricular activities. She is a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and attended the Virginia Governor’s School as a French scholar. Sauls is also an accomplished pianist and vocalist, performing with the show choir and in a variety of the school’s productions.

The class salutatorian was Carney Cooper Pearce IV. He is also an excellent student who was involved in a variety of extracurricular activities.

Prior to commencement, students received awards at the traditional Prize Day on Friday, June 6. Michael Brinkmeyer, an Upper School French teacher and coach received the Faculty Excellence Award for outstanding contribution by a member of the K—12 faculty. Jessie Ann Kaur Gill received the St. Agnes Cup. This award is given to the senior girl who has demonstrated a profound commitment to the spirit and ideas of St. Stephen's and St. Agnes and whose exceptional contributions to the life of the school have helped make St. Stephen's and St. Agnes a vital and caring community.

Eight seniors received medals for their outstanding service to the school and/or for their outstanding contribution to the larger community. Kathleen Harrison Miller and Michael John Liss were named outstanding athletes.
