City of Fairfax Independence Day celebration. A parade through downtown Fairfax will be followed by firefighter games, music and fireworks. The schedule of events will be published in the July "Cityscene" and on the city Web site, www.ci.fairfax.va.us.

Lorton's Annual Fourth of July Celebration. Presented by the Federation of Lorton Communities, the celebration will feature a parade with fire engines, antique cars, clowns, the Statue of Liberty and Uncle Sam on stilts and the Hayfield Middle School marching band. The parade will start at 11 a.m., rain or shine, from the Lorton Fire Station. Entertainment and displays will be set up at the station until 1 p.m.
